The 17th Annual Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby & Arts Festival is rolling back into town on Saturday, October 25, 2025!
Expect the usual wild contraptions, neighborhood pride, and a whole lot of weird. Whether you’re racing, watching, or just wandering through, this is one of Philly’s most beloved community events.
Hosted at Frankford Ave & York St, right in the heart of East Kensington and Fishtown.

This year, it was touch and go whether the derby would happen at all. Changes in the requirements for street closures created complications, and the derby, normally held in mid May, was postponed. At last month’s East Kensington Neighbors Association meeting, it was speculated that the derby would take place on October 25th, though it was unclear whether it would be officially sanctioned by the city.
